"Active Isolated Stretching (AIS): The Mattes Method", developed by Aaron L. Mattes is one of the methods of stretching most used and respected today by fitness professionals. The AIS technique is an active movement and reciprocal inhibition program to achieve optimal flexibility. Performing a stretch of more than 2 seconds has proven to be the key in avoiding reflexive contraction of the antagonistic muscles. AIS promotes optimal range of motion by facilitating flexibility at the joint, mobility of the spine and kinesthetic awareness that will add to dance and athletic performance and off freedom of movement that enhances daily health and well-being.

Anna Burke was trained and certified by Aaron Mattes in 2012. As an AIS Practitioner, High Intensity Personal Trainer and Licensed Massage Therapist, her focus is on achieving optimal fitness result in minimal time for people of any age and fitness level. The methods she teaches are designed so that even busy individuals can find time to add effective methods of strecthing and strengthening to their daily routines.

Taught at many dance schools and fitness centers across the country, Including New York's Broadway Dance Center, this 6 week program will cover all the major muscle groups and provide dancers with the tools they need to effectively continue their program at home for maximum results.
